“山人”之前，"云南摇滚"仅限于地理范畴。”山人”，中国潜移默化的RIO（Rock in Opposition）运动领军团，前卫摇滚 / 喜剧摇滚 / 民谣摇滚的中和大师。当北京乐队纷纷奔向工业金属时，这伙儿云南土著发起了空前猛烈的农业金属新浪潮。
“山人”的成就，在于努力探索中国民族元素与现代音乐的嫁接，他们以轻盈的节奏，树立中国地下音乐唯美通俗的范本。山人还原了云南最广泛文青的精神生活，并以缓慢的操守讽刺着城市化进程的黄梁美梦。
2007年7月，山人乐队正式签约十三月唱片。同年10月，应邀参加第二届丽江雪山音乐节。2007年12月，作为内地首支摇滚乐队登陆央视，纪事栏目专题片《理想病》于央视新闻频道播出。与此同时，已有近50首成熟歌曲的山人乐队，在各方瞩目下的首张唱片也即将问世。Prior to the “Shan Ren” band, Yun Nan Rock and Roll genre has its geographic limitation.
